About the SVOVET Erasmus+ Project:
The European project SVOVET (2024-1-FI01-KA220-VET-000247853) aims to innovate vocational education and training in the field of aesthetics by developing a specialized programme in socio-aesthetics. This new professional field is designed to train beauticians to work with vulnerable groups, such as patients undergoing medical treatment or individuals with physical or emotional conditions, and to provide them with aesthetic care that contributes to their overall well-being. The project approach is based on the creation of a common training curriculum at European level, adapted to the vocational education systems of different countries, aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), and validated through pilot testing with sector professionals.
Through transnational collaboration between educational institutions, medical centres, NGOs and professional associations from several European countries, SVOVET seeks to develop open educational resources (OER), promote the recognition of the socio-aesthetician profession, and support its inclusion in multidisciplinary teams in clinical and social contexts. In doing so, the project aims to improve the quality of life of vulnerable groups, increase the employability of professionals in the aesthetic sector, and foster more flexible, inclusive and innovative vocational training in Europe.
Educational programme:
Specialised and adaptable curriculum aligned with the vocational education and training (VET) systems of EU countries, in accordance with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) including teaching materials, training methods, and assessment tools in digital and open-access format for trainers and professionals in the aesthetics sector distributed in 12 courses available in English translated into Spanish, Finnish, Italian, Greek, French, Romanian, and Polish.

The socio-aesthetician profile:
The socio-aesthetician is a trained aesthetics professional specialised in providing care and support to individuals in vulnerable situations, such as patients undergoing medical treatment or people affected by physical, psychological, or emotional conditions. This profile combines traditional aesthetic competencies with knowledge from health and social care fields, enabling a holistic approach focused on improving well-being, self-esteem, and quality of life. The socio-aesthetician works in multidisciplinary environments, often in collaboration with healthcare and social service professionals, and applies adapted aesthetic techniques in a sensitive and ethically responsible manner.
